Assessment and Reporting Policy
Assessment is an ongoing process of identifying, gathering and interpreting information that determines the effectiveness of the teaching and learning within the school for students. The purposes of assessment are to assist student learning, evaluate and improve teaching and learning programs, assess student achievement in a course and provide evidence of satisfactory completion of a course.
Reporting is the process of communicating information to parents and students about student achievement and progress gained from the assessment process. It provides support to teaching and learning within the school by the provision of feedback on student progress. It also can provide valuable information to other schools and employers.
The assessment and reporting policy of the school reflects the requirements of the Board of Studies for the awards of the School Certificate and the High School Certificate as laid out in the current A.C.E. manual, and by the Department of Education and Training.
